Materials
All of the jewellery made here at Emily Pike Jewellery are made with Sterling Silver, Gold Fill and Freshwater Pearls
All of the silver jewellery is made from 925 recycled sterling silver which is durable, beautiful and perfect for everyday wear. Sterling silver will naturally tarnish if left out in the air, but it is easily rectified with a silver polishing cloth.
Gold filled jewellery is also referred to as “rolled gold” or “gold bonded.” Manufacturers create it by mechanically bonding a layer of gold to a base metal (usually brass). They apply heat and pressure to fuse the gold to the brass, forming a permanent bond that prevents the gold from flaking, peeling, or falling off. Gold filled jewellery offers the beauty of gold without the high price tag. It has a much higher gold content than gold plate and is therefore much higher in quality and durability.
The Freshwater Pearls I use will naturally vary in colour, size and shape, no two will be exactly the same. Freshwater pearls are naturally cultured pearls known for their soft, radiant luster and beautiful variety of shapes. Formed inside freshwater mussels, each pearl develops its own unique character - ranging from perfectly round to elegant oval, baroque, or button shapes. I like to use this classic material in a modern style.
Cleaning and Care
Gold Filled and Sterling Silver are easy to keep clean and shiny with a jewellery polishing cloth.
It should be stored in a box away from the moisture in the air; contact with perfumes and body lotions should be avoided.
Please remove all jewellery before swimming as chlorine will cause damage.
